If Jesus Preached in Your Church!

Have you ever wondered how Jesus would do church in our day?

What would it look like?

Would we sing the songs we sing week after week with a different spirit or with more enthusiasm?

Would you raise Holy Hands to Him in worship without being embarrassed?

Would you tithe to His church better than you do in the one you currently attend?

Would we take His message more seriously than the ones that are taught by those He ordained?

Would He preach a Joel Osteen Milk Toast and Peaches life is a Rose sermon that would draw tens of thousands of pew warmers? Or would the serious nature of what He taught cause the halls of most of our churches to become vacant for a while because of the demands that He would place upon our lives?

I look around me in the church today and tend to think the sermons He would preach would make most in the church today too uncomfortable to stay… or at least stay in the condition that they are currently in.
But after all the smoke cleared, for those that remained oh what a fire they would light!

But why would it have to take His physical presence to lead us to the level that we already know He has called us to live at? Why is serving Him here and now some far off thing for us, but it wouldn’t be if He were here? The reality is He is here with us now, and He is watching everything we do and the motives for why we do it! The demands on our life that He would make from the pulpit are not any different than the demands He places on us now.

What are those demands you ask… He says “Seek Me first”… “Love me with all that you are and all that you have”… “Give what I freely give you, freely to others”… “Be Holy even as I am Holy”… “Live as though your life here counts for nothing, and your life with me is everything”… and so many other things that make the church that He calls "His Bride" so much more than what we make of it today.

Following God should not be a waypoint marked by a weekly church visit or just part of life. It should be the very core, the center of your life that everything else should revolve around.

When you stand before Him in heaven, what explanation will you give Him for why you didn’t do for Him in His absence that which you would have done for Him in His presence?

That day WILL come, have you thought about it?

Have you thought about what your life of service to Him on earth will look like in the light of eternity?

It boils down to only one thing. You either believe it and will change how you live or you will prove you don’t by the way you live.

For some Christianity is a Philosophy, for others it is a way of life, which is it for you?
