I think I finally understand this whole 700 billion dollar bail out thing.
We have to do something quick because the Ship is sinking! But that isn’t the worst part, we have a bunch of bottom feeders we elected to fix the hole, but instead of fixing it, for years they have been dismantling the ship and parsing it out to the highest bidder to line their own pockets. And now that the trickle has become a flood our government’s solution to the whole mess is, instead of getting rid of the bottom feeders and fixing the hole they want to give us a bigger bucket to bail with. That’s why they call it a bail out!
One way or another someone is getting bailed out! If the 700 billion isn’t passed or something like it, then about half of our banks will go under. If that happens then we will be bailing out the FDIC. They don’t have enough money to even come close to covering the tab. Heck; the failure of Washington Mutual today would have bankrupted the FDIC if it hadn’t been bought by JP Morgan. If they can't even cover the deposits of one big bank how are they going to cover a bunch of big banks failing? We are in DIRE times, and unless someone is going to step up and start fixing the leaks in the ship then this 700 billion is just the beginning.
I am confident and grateful that God has me, my family and so many other Christian families in His hand… and whether or not it is from protection by divine intervention or a sudden ride up into the sky to meet him for the rapture, I know (because He said so) that everything will work out one way or another.
I am reminded of a quote by Helen Keller that I think is appropriate for these times.
Security is a man made illusion. No where in Gods creation can security be found. The animals must depend upon Gods provision daily, and he intends for us to as well. The only security He offers is where we will spend eternity, every thing else is a lesson.
Helen Keller (paraphrased)
