God has asked us to be obedient to Him regardless of the circumstances we are facing. The consequences of our obedience are His responsibility. God has promised a special blessing to those who are obedient. The Bible says that He searches the earth looking for those who are committed to Him so that He can bless them.
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
He also says that if we as imperfect earthly parents can Love and bless our own children, then how much more will a God who loves us perfectly bless us.
Look to the Israelites for an example:
Whenever they as a people pursued Gods will for their life and concerned themselves only with following His purpose they were immeasurably blessed. Conversely anytime they endeavored to accomplish anything outside of Gods purpose they were abandoned, defeated, enslaved and stripped of their blessing. All through out the Old Testament when the Israelites were obedient they did very little other than obey God and watch while He conquered the kingdoms He promised them, often times right in front of their very eyes. Just read the story of Gideon, or one of my favorites, the first battle that God led the Israelites into against the Midianites, it is found in Numbers 31.
God told Moses to select one thousand men from each tribe, twelve thousand men in total. Men, who up until this, moment had never experienced battle. They were told to march against the Midianite's an army so vast that after they were finished conquering them there were 32,000 virgin Midianite women left alive. These were women who were probably under the age of 12 to 15. Now let’s consider what this adds up to. If each virgin had two parents then there were a minimum of 96,000 people. Most assuredly they probably had other sisters and brothers. Families in those days very rarely consisted of one or two children. I would bet there were probably several Hundred Thousand people that these twelve thousand unproven soldiers defeated. But the story does not end there. A few days later the captain of the guard came to Moses with a special gift to be given to God, because after numbering themselves they discovered that NOT ONE OF THEM WERE KILLED IN ACTION. Is that powerful or what? God delivered their enemies completely into their hands with out any loss.
God holds in his hands the same blessings for you…
if you will only be obedient.
